Abby Omari was in
his best form over the weekend after firing the best score in a 18-hole
golf tournament held over the weekend at Arusha Gymkhana Club course.
Playing off 11
handicaps, Omari fired unassailable four-under par 40 stable ford points
to win the Division A's top prize after beating his closest challenger
Reece Shah by four shots. Shah who played off handicap 11, finished the
18-hole thriller with 36 points to claim the Division A's runner up
title.
Third overall was
the 7 handicapper, Richard Gomes who penned 34 points to finish third
overall. The weekend was flamboyant to Aliraza Kermali who claimed the
Division B title after returning 40 stableford points, playing off 19
handicaps.
Following his
impressive score, Kermali's handicap was chopped to 18. The event's
runner up title went to Riyaz Somji who carded 37 points.
Phillip
Vrontamitis who played off handicap-18 finished third after posting 36
points. However, the tournament overall best scorer was a junior golfer,
Aliabbas Kermali who fired a dazzling five-under par 42 points.
After an impressive
show playing off handicap 36, Kermali's handicap was chopped to 33. His
closest challenger was Prudence Kaijage who posted 40 points to claim
the runner up title while Owen Maganga carded 35 points to finish third
overall.
National ladies
golf team ace Madina Iddi handicap-2 also had best weekend after
grabbing Ladies Division's top prize with 37 points.
Neema Olomi who
returned 33 points finished second overall. But the weekend left some
thing to remember for Madina after firing an astonishing two club at the
par-3 hole 7. Seven players apart from Madina who registered two clubs
score included Perfect Lyimo and Vrontamitis, both did it on a hole
number 4.
